Trauma Trails
- a body based approach to working with trauma
- Traumespor´s courses in English

Training is moved to 2022 due to coronasituation
(November 26th-28th 2020), in Totnes, Devon, England

(contact espenandli@hotmail.com if you want information or be on the list for news for activities in English)

A 3 day training for counsellors, psychotherapists, facilitators and wellbeing or healthcare professionals. Trauma Trails provides an introduction to tracking trauma from the perspective of evolutionary neuroscience. Using body awareness and evolutionary neuroscience to navigate and work effectively with trauma in a therapeutic setting with individuals and groups.

During this programme we will learn about and explore:
• Practical ways to work with an easily navigable map of the reptilian brain.
• Becoming a ‘track-finder’, seeing, sensing and traversing the tracks of trauma.
• How to perceive body signals and movement patterns that are a language for
deeper parts of ourselves and our experience.
• Development and dosage. A small drop of intervention, a little movement, can be
enough. Developing the ability to recognize what is enough and taking time for
integration into the body’s systems, especially the autonomic nervous system.
• Compasses that provide a helpful map for questions like “What is the next zone of
development?” and “What can this person integrate, as of this moment?”
• Cultivating awareness in the present moment to enable the client or participant
to work safely and effectively when memories show up.
• Noticing and bringing awareness to the resources and vitality that are also
present within our clients or participants.
The course content will be presented and explored with practical exercises, including
bringing awareness to the body, sensations, emotions, thoughts and reflections.
Specific content will include/touch upon:
Window of tolerance (Siegel)
Structural Dissociation
Phase oriented trauma work
Working with parts
Triune Brain (MacLean)
Triune Brain Compasses (Hart & Benzen)
Polyvagal Theory (Porges)
